I am so excited to show you the cover for Daughter of Destiny, the first book in the Guinevere’s Tale trilogy, and my debut novel, which will be published January 1, 2016.
Thank you to Jenny Q. for designing such a beautiful cover. It’s nothing like I imagined it would be, but it is so gorgeous and so perfect for the book. I couldn’t be happier!

So, what do you think of the cover? What does it say to you?
It’s beautiful. I love the colors and the symbolism of Stonehenge in the background. If I can be a tad picky, I would put quotation marks around the quote from Thomas and I would make the dash in front of her name longer so it looks like a dash, not a hyphen, and put a space between it and the first name, but other than that it’s fabulous.
Thanks, Tyler. I’ll pass your notes on to my designer, but I think we may be beyond the editing stage. But I appreciate the feedback for future covers!
Well, I doubt anyone but me would even notice those little things. I hope it’s a huge success for you. I can’t wait to read it.
In my opinion, the quotation marks would distract from the overall feel of the cover. They would look messy. As a former English teacher, yeah they would be technically correct – maybe on one of the inside pages if quoted. But I still wouldn’t do it on the cover. My only complaint is that I’m going to have to wait until January to read it. Sigh. (I’ve just pre-ordered it form my Kindle.)
Thanks for weighing in, Heather! My designer saw the conversation and is looking to see what is standard. I’m leaning toward no quotes, but I don’t have a strong preference either way.
I have to say that it gives me a sick little thrill that you don’t want to wait to read it! If I could give it to you right now, I would. (And I think the second book is even stronger, but that’s me.) Thanks for pre-ordering!
