Nicole is an accomplished speaker, having presented at international, national and regional writing conferences - including the Historical Novel Society North American Conference, Symposium on Medieval and Renaissance Studies, Missouri Writer’s Guild Conference and Chanticleer Author’s Conference – both on panels and teaching solo. She’s also spoken to groups ranging from academics to writers and high school students on topics from historical women to all elements of writing fiction and non-fiction and the business of self-publishing. Nicole is also a Self-E Ambassador, approved to speak about this Library Journal program for self-published authors.

March 31, 2021 – Nicole spoke online to the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) St. Louis Chapter on how she went from “Corporate to Creative” as a corporate communications writer and then an author.
March 12, 2021 – Nicole presented at the virtual Missouri Conference on History as part of the panel Tales from the Ballot Box. Her paper was “Trollops, Tarts and Taxes,” a look at Virginia Minor’s role in the tax revolts of the late 1800s and her protest of St. Louis’ Social Evil Laws.
March 4, 2021 – Nicole spoke online to Women with a Mission on why she writes about unknown women in history and how we can all contribute to women’s history by telling our own story or those of others.
Feb. 25, 2021 – Nicole spoke online to the Sisters in Crime Greater St. Louis Chapter on how to get started in self-publishing.
September 17, 2020 – Nicole was part of an online panel called Womanhood: Our Deeper History. She, spoke about the role of women in history and how uncovering our shared history can bridge stronger connections between women.

August 29, 2020 – Nicole was the keynote speaker at the League of Women Voters of Missouri – Suffrage Centennial Celebration. She spoke on the lives of Virginia and Francis Minor.
