Nicole is an accomplished speaker, having presented at international, national, regional,  and local writing conferences ­both on panels and teaching solo. She’s also spoken to groups ranging from academics to writers and high school students on topics from historical women to all elements of writing fiction and non-fiction and the business of self-publishing.

  • October 9, 2021 – Nicole spoke at the virtual Communication Central Be a Better Freelancer Conference about how to know if your book idea will sell in today’s marketplace.
  • September 17, 2020 – Nicole was part of an online panel called Womanhood: Our Deeper History. She, spoke about the role of women in history and how uncovering our shared history can bridge stronger connections between women.

  • April 17, 2023, Nichole spoke at the Little Dixie Regional Libraries in Moberly, Missouri, about how women’s suffrage came to Missouri.
  • March 26, 2023 – Nicole spoke at the Daniel Boone Regional Library in Columbia, Missouri, about the lives of Virginia and Francis Minor.
  • March 4, 2023 – Nicole spoke at the Jefferson County Library Northwest about how women’s suffrage came to Missouri.
  • May 26, 2022 – Nicole spoke to the Historical Novel Society Heartland chapter about writing back cover/dust jacket copy that sells books.
  • March 12, 2002 – Nicole spoke to the Missouri Professional Communicators about Virginia and Francis Minor.
  • March 12, 2021 – Nicole presented at the virtual Missouri Conference on History as part of the panel Tales from the Ballot Box. Her paper was “Trollops, Tarts and Taxes,” a look at Virginia Minor’s role in the tax revolts of the late 1800s and her protest of St. Louis’ Social Evil Laws.
  • August 29, 2020 – Nicole was the keynote speaker at the League of Women Voters of Missouri – Suffrage Centennial Celebration. She spoke on the lives of Virginia and Francis Minor.
